Reasons Why?

1. The lines looks natural even though they are not parallel because of space. This leads the eyes of the viewer towards the hazy horizon. These lines are creating space through the lines to give the painting more life and a natural look.
2. The boat in the foreground looks much larger than the sailing ship in the background because of the perspective. The perspective in this painting draws the eyes toward the closer ship, even though it can be inferred that the actual larger ship is the one in the background.
3. The artist spent a lot of time in Italy perhaps and it can be inferred that since he knew of the location and its architecture that he used the knowledge in his paintings. Or perhaps he liked the architecture of ruins, since there seems to be a pattern of ruins in his works.

It was discovered in 1994 in the Chauvet Caves in southern France
    2.    Why was a door installed into the opening of the cave?
The door was installed because they didn’t want to compromise the pieces by having air flowing inside.

The red spots were discovered at the front of the cave on a rock, they were made by the palm of a hand, a single hand.

The first proof that they were not forgeries was that there was certain residue on them that could be traced back to thousands of years.

The artist created the bison with eight legs because it gave a more alive feel the piece, using the imagination of the mind to make it seem real. The other possible reason could be it suggested movement.

The landmark nearby is the Vallon Pont-d-Arc.

      12. What was most significant about this cave to you?The most significant piece of this cave to me was that painting of the horses. The detail and the contrast of the piece spoke to me, it was a magnificent piece of art, and that the age of the piece shocks me even more. The reason for that is because its ancient yet this piece is, in my opinion, better than some of the art pieces we have today.
